Winteringham Weekend 19th July - What happened!

Welcome to our first tentative steps on the Web. If you are a member then please help the site to grow with your own contributions and suggestions.

We hope that Visitors and prospective members will find some of the sailing resources and Humberside information useful.

If you are new to sailing or the River Humber (N.E. England, UK) then let's explain that the Humber Yawl Club is one of the oldest sailing clubs in the UK and was founded more than 100 years ago by a group of sailing innovators and sometime marine artists with a particular interest in cruising in sailing canoes.

Today we are one of the strongest clubs in Eastern England with sailing bases at Brough (The North Bank of the Humber in East Yorkshire), Winteringham and South Ferriby (The South Bank in North Lincolnshire). Members also sail from Hull Marina.

A few Humber Yawls still exist, but most of us now sail in a wide range of cruising or racing yachts, or in Flying Fifteens.

We do not have a 'Commodore' but, by long tradition, a Captain and two Mates.

Now we may not yet be up to surfing the Humber but if you would like to potter about our muddy creeks or curious backwaters just click below!
